What inspired you to start Blissful Type Stationary?
Blissful Type started with a simple idea: I wanted to help women grow and live with purpose. My own journey through personal development and navigating life’s curveballs has shown me what it’s like to live reactively rather than intentionally. I wanted to create something that gives women both a voice and the tools to navigate life with confidence. I truly believe that every woman deserves to feel empowered and to have the tools to live intentionally.
How do you incorporate life coaching principles into the design and functionality of your journals?
Our journals are like having a life coach in your hands. They guide you through three main steps: Story, Reflection, and Action. You’ll find life coaching exercises and activities throughout that help you dig deeper into understanding yourself and taking practical steps towards your goals. It’s all about making personal growth accessible and actionable.
Can you tell us about the process of creating a journal from concept to final product?
Creating a journal is a bit of a journey in itself. It starts with choosing a topic and creating a moodboard to capture the vibe. Then, I connect with amazing women to share their stories, which I find incredibly inspiring. I design the journal with a lot of care, including activities, reflection questions, and a layout that feels right. Once the first draft is ready, I get samples printed and go through them by hand to make sure everything’s perfect. We then test it with a small group of women, gather feedback, and refine it before launching it to everyone. It’s a long process, but it’s worth it to ensure the journal is of the highest quality and truly impactful.
Explain to us why journaling is important for self-care and how someone could start the process?
Journaling is a fantastic way to take care of yourself and practice self-care more regularly. It helps you sort through your thoughts, manage stress, and gain clarity. Here are some steps you can take to get started:
Pick a Journal: Choose whatever feels right for you, whether it’s a notebook or a guided journal.
Set a Routine: Write for a few minutes each day in a quiet spot. It’s more about consistency than length.
Start Small: Use simple prompts or try our 30-day introduction to journaling for self-care to get going.
Be Yourself: Don’t stress about grammar or structure. Just write what’s on your mind. Your journal is the one place where nothing else matters but you and your thoughts meeting the page.
Try Different Things: Experiment with various techniques like bullet journaling or mood tracking to find what you enjoy.
What kind of impact have you seen your journals have on women’s lives?
It’s been amazing to see the impact. Women have shared stories of how our journals have sparked significant transformations in their lives, some have started new businesses, seen huge growth in their self-confidence, and even rediscovered their self-worth. One message that really touched me was from a woman who overcame her fears and set actionable goals for the first time in her life. Hearing how our journals make a real difference makes all the hard work worthwhile.
One message that profoundly moved me came from a woman who found renewed self-worth through our Self-Care Journal. She described how it opened her eyes to self-improvement and inspired her to move forward with renewed focus. This testimonial was pivotal in our decision to launch the Self-Care Guided Journal to the public, which quickly became a sell-out success. It’s moments like these that reaffirm why I started Blissful Type.
Tell us a little bit about the guided journals?
Our guided journals are crafted with the intent to inspire and guide women towards meaningful self-growth. Unlike generic journals, ours are designed to lead you into actionable steps through thoughtful prompts and coaching exercises.
They blend personal stories with practical tools to help you not just reflect but actively shape the change you wish to see in your life.
My goal was to create something that not only inspires but also helps you put your insights into action.
What are some common goals or themes that your journals help users achieve?
Our journals focus on helping women live with purpose and intention. They cover themes like self-discovery, goal-setting, and personal growth within a certain topic or category i.e. self-care. By becoming the best version of ourselves, we can also positively impact the world around us. My hope is that through our journals, women would be inspired to step into their full potential and make a difference.
What are the biggest challenges you’ve faced in building Blissful Type, and how have you overcome them?
The most significant challenge came with a life-altering car accident that happened just before our launch. It was a tough time, and the accident changed my daily life and professional path dramatically. However, it also gave me a chance to reflect and choose how to move forward. Instead of letting it hold me back, I used the mission behind Blissful type as motivation. It’s been a journey of resilience and determination. By choosing to live intentionally, we reclaim our power over circumstances, and that truly makes all the difference
Are there any upcoming collections or new features in your journals that you’re excited about?
I’m really excited about our new Intentional Collection that gives you the tools to live more intentionally but a very exciting project is our ‘Thrive Journal’. It’s all about defining what success means to you personally. It includes inspiring stories and tools to help you find and pursue your own vision of success. I can’t wait for you to see it!
How do you see Blissful Type evolving in the future, and what are your long-term goals for the brand?
I envision Blissful Type growing into a supportive community where women can access coaching programs, join group sessions, and find a wealth of resources. My goal is to make personal growth accessible and inspiring for all women, helping them thrive and reach their full potential.
