Crafted with Love: Discovering the Artistry of Rose Jewellery
Nestled in Kent but originating from Birmingham, Rose Jewellery is more than just a business—it's a tribute to cherished memories and a passion for artisanal jewellery making. Founded with a deep-rooted love for creating since a young age, Rose Jewellery specialises in personalised pieces that resonate with personal narratives, alongside a diverse array of non-personalized designs. With five years of crafting experience and a recent dedication to honouring a beloved Nan, each creation reflects meticulous hand stamping and a commitment to quality that extends to every corner where their jewellery finds a home. Let’s get to know the brand better..
Can you share the personal story behind the creation of Rose Jewellery and how your journey into jewellery making began?
I started making jewellery from a young age, I’ve always loved making jewellery and being creative! So I started my first handmade jewellery business around 5 years ago! But in the past year I have now built up Rose Jewellery, this is dedicated to my Nan, who passed nearly 2 years ago now and her name was Rose. Rose Jewellery has now branched out into hand stamped, personalised jewellery.
"The name is dedicated to my Nan who passed nearly 2 years ago. She always loved my jewellery and was one of the most important women to me"
How has your background influenced the style and aesthetic of Rose Jewellery's handmade pieces?
I think my branding is very me, I love anything floral/neutrals! So I wanted to make sure the branding was just the same! A brand that my audience would literally just think ‘cute!’. I always want everything to look cute and aesthetically pleasing, so I try to show that through my products and content.
Could you describe the process of hand stamping and personalising jewellery?
I've always dreamed of creating personalized, hand-stamped jewelry, and this ambition has been with me even during my previous business ventures. However, I never quite found the confidence to actually dive in and sell my creations until I founded Rose Jewellery.
My journey into hand-stamped jewelry began with teaching myself through a wealth of social media content and countless YouTube tutorials. It's a craft that requires a lot of practice, especially to ensure that the designs are perfectly centered and straight. This meticulous attention to detail is often the most time-consuming part of the process, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. Now, with Rose Jewellery, I’m thrilled to bring my vision to life and offer these unique, handcrafted pieces to you.
What sets Rose Jewellery apart in the market of handmade jewellery?
When thinking about releasing hand stamped jewellery, I have always thought there's room for another business because I honestly don’t see as much stamped jewellery, maybe more lasered designs rather than stamped designs. I think what sets us apart is that already with the small selection of products we have available, I think we have designs that I’ve not really seen elsewhere and just designs that are personal to me, which I really love! For e.g. I went away to the US in April this year and as soon as I got back, I released a necklace design that had a north star pendant with the stamped word ‘live’ and I wanted to bring out something that related slightly to Disney and my love for Orlando, Florida and like a memory for me to have in the shop!- but the necklace can also have so many more meanings in every aspect of life, so it is a really versatile product and I love that!
Can you highlight some of the most popular or signature pieces from Rose Jewellery's collection?
I think the most popular products for us would be our personalised flower necklace and hoop earrings! As these are so cute as a set, a lovely gift for someone special and really nice for summer time!
What do your days look like as a female founder?
Honestly! I just always feel busy and like I’m rushing around haha! I do quite a lot outside of the business too, due to having a part time job, being a training dancer and a dance teacher. But regarding the business, every spare second is spent on that, especially at the minute as we have a really exciting new keyring launch very soon!! But whenever I have a day off from my part time job and any extra spare time, it is spent in the office building up my lil jewellery biz!!
We have really exciting personalised, hand stamped Disney inspired keyrings coming out very soon!!! Which again is personal to me and based on my love for Orlando, Florida! We are also currently stocked in 3 stores, so I think plans for the future would be to just grow even more and get our brand out into more stores/bigger opportunities. I would also love to start up regular markets as I’ve done a few in the past but not really that regular!
Can you share any challenges or rewarding experiences you've encountered while building and growing Rose Jewellery as a business?
Honestly, one of my most rewarding opportunities was to be able to create personalised necklaces for your subscription boxes! I was so grateful to be given that opportunity and my business was shared to quite a few extra people, so I’m really grateful for that! And also just other opportunities i've had such as stocking in different stores etc. I think there are always challenges running a small business but we always push through!!
